Black Bear Diner Vancouver

Highly recommend ‘the bear’. We’ve been coming here weekly and have for many years. They offer the ultimate in comfort food….. it is a ‘carb house’, BUT they are very flexible about substituting healthy choices in lieu of what’s on the menu. Dinners such as their meatloaf, pot roast and turkey are second to none. Salmon dinner is a healthy option - always cooked to perfection, they offer many choice burgers up to the 10oz for the ‘big bear burger’…. All delicious and guaranteed to satisfy the hungriest person. breakfast choices are many, everything from traditional ‘old school’ (eggs benedict, scrambles, omelettes etc.) fare to the more ‘exotic’ chicken and waffles, pan cakes with whipped cream & syrup etc., the plates and servings are large resulting in often times taking food home. For those wanting healthier eating options, the bear has great salads, and different dinner options as stated above, the bear is flexible about healthier substitutions making it easier for ‘keto’ minded folks to ‘not only get happy’ but actually enjoy their meal (without guilt). They have delicious pies as well. Many to choose from. The bear also offers a “little less” menu for seniors like myself, or those whose appetites are not too large. The coffee is hot and fresh and always very good. Kids love the bear and the kids menu is a big hit with children - kids fave macaroni and cheese is on their menu! One must be patient on the holidays as this restaurant fills up and stays full til the end. I am always impressed by the crew who face the daunting task of serving so many. There are many servers here of varying levels if experience, but ALL are professional ie; kara, lacey, hiedi, arrianne, logan, andrea, nat, jamie, adela and savannah to name a few…. Great cooks eddie, jose and ricky to name a few… all under supportive managers memo and shari who keep this place moving…… highly recommend the black bear in vancouver washington. …. And…….You can actually walk in with 16 people or more…. The staff will accomodate you! Great place, great people!

What a great experience we had a couple days ago!It had been a while since we’ve been to this restaurant because quite frankly, I had been disappointed too many times. Each time we walked into the place the front cooler was broken. Things just seemed a little bit down in the dumps. The people were friendly enough, but they just didn’t seem to take pride in the restaurant. It has changed dramatically things are clean and in good operation, and servers seem genuinely glad to be working there. They have a number of new menu items and I tried one. It was very good. Our server, Lacey, was terrific. Cherry, the manager, came over to speak with us after we told our server that we had noticed improvements. She was great. We will be back!

This place is such an amazing diner!!! Came here for a celebratory breakfast and did not leave disappointed. Not only did my waitress have the same name as me, but she had amazing energy and was so awesome. I had the pancakes, eggs and bacon. Others at my table had the 'little less' biscuits and gravy. Those things were HUGE!!! My youngest daughter got the cinnamon roll French toast. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to come back. Also the huckleberry lemonade was to die for!!

Such an awesome Black bear Diner! They had so many cute bear statues and the service was sooo great!! The food is always amazing at Black Bear and my kids and I are trying to stop at all of them so we were very happy to check this one off our list! My son also sampled all the hot sauces and really enjoyed Mama Bear the best!

Went here for lunch, they said they have a new system so they might take awhile to serve us BUT NO. It doesn't feel like a wait at all. Got fish and chips with onion rings and they're all very good, the crisps is 10/10 I didn't try what my husband had (a burger), but he said it was good. There's a souvenir store as well and everything there looks cute! The decoration is rustic and giving lodges vibes which I really enjoy. Overall super satisfied and might come back again for other stuff!
